Stock Quote 2.0

Stock Quote 2.0

KDE 4.2 has been released, and I thought I should bring out an update to the stock plasmoid. I have done alot of work to make it more usable, and still have plenty of ideas to implement.

The main changes for this release are:

  • Data engine backend
  • Dockable in panel
  • Improved theme
  • Improved percent display
  • Clickable stocks link to yahoo finance
  • Position/resize bug fixes
  • Supports stock with commas in description
  • Supports kde 4.2

Stock Quote 2.0 is downloadable from kde-look.org.

I had stock-quote-v2 working, but I think it was broken by a subsequent KDE upgrade to 4.4.4 under openSUSE 11.3 -
the tab on the right side of the the plasmoid that pops out no longer shows the symbols for “maintenance”, etc.,
and for some odd reason, I can’t get the DJIA (stock symbol “^DJI”) which was working before. I upgraded to 2.1
and the problem persists (identically). I love the applet, but it’s disappointing to have these problems crop up.

It´s a great plasmoid, i love it, but like brandy i cant get the DJIA which is a pitty.
I tried ^DJI and all variants.
Is there a solution?

Thanks

I have the same issue, I tried DJI, DJIA, and ^DJI but none of them seem to work.

For those having trouble with ^DJI use this instead ^DJI2MN
